“Sans collier is part of a set of solos that I have been developing for a while. Inspired by self-portraits made during the pandemic, I began to imagine what dance would best correspond to each of them. The clothing has greatly influenced the way I move and interact with the camera. From the sometimes blurred areas between playfulness and fabulation, a figure allows itself to emerge. Movements, halted positions; capturing these unique moments without knowing exactly why. A way to fill a solitude perhaps and to let emerge a new creativity. A kind of presence in the world within the invisibility of other presences, but where possibilities can manifest themselves.
How to render through dance these states, these forms, these figures taken in the seizure of an image? The desire to return to explore solo dance, the one closest to me, known and yet to be discovered, calls to me after several years spent choreographing for others.
These dances, just like a beautiful photo that we like to pass from hand to hand, I really want to share them.”
